µm measurement is performed using the eddy current method as described in ISO 2360 and ASTM B244. HAI® can therefore offer µm measurement according to ISO 7599, ISO 10074, DIN 17611, Qualanod and MIL-PRF-8625, type III.
µm measurement using the eddy current method is a standardized method for measuring coating thicknesses on non-ferrous metal surfaces using an eddy current measuring device. This method is useful for checking whether a non-ferrous metal surface is coated to the desired thickness and ensuring that quality requirements are met.
µm stands for micrometer, which is 1/1000 of a millimeter for measuring lengths and distances, and our measuring equipment is calibrated regularly to ensure high accuracy of our measurements.
