HAIs laboratory has a Q-FOG SSP600 and an A-scott S 450 salt fog tester, which is one of the world's most modern for corrosion testing on items. Internal use HAI the salt spray tester to test the various surface treatments on aluminum sheets. The test is an NNS (Neutral Salt Spray) and corrosion tests are performed as described in ISO 9227, ASTM B117 and Qualanod. HAIs corrosion tests meet applicable MIL standards in anodizing and chromating, MIL-PRF-8625, Type I and II, MIL-DTL-5541 and Qualanod. Corrosion testing (NNS) for ISO 7599 and ISO 10074 can also be carried out as required.
To comply with the standard will be HAIs salt fog test checked several times daily by our laboratory.
The salt spray test is the most widely used method for testing corrosion resistance, and the test is performed in a closed chamber where the items are exposed to a continuous salt spray.
Salt spray testing can help define which alloys are best suited for aggressive environments. It can also be used to assess how suitable different surface treatments are in corrosive environments.
Most often, boards with different surface coatings are tested, but in consultation with HAI is it also possible to test subjects with a different design.
