Mass loss tests are performed as described in ISO 3210. HAI® can therefore offer to carry out mass loss tests according to ISO 7599, DIN 17611 and Qualanod.
Mass loss testing is a destructive seale test applied to anodized surfaces. The test is performed by treating a given item or test plate with a special chemistry that removes the sealing on the item or test plate in question. Using the weight before and after as well as the surface area, the seale quality can be assessed based on the given standards. This test is also used in the event of a discrepancy regarding a problem in relation to the seale quality.
Mass loss testing is used to evaluate the resistance of materials to various forms of degradation and corrosion, and the results can help identify problem areas and develop solutions to minimize degradation and extend the life of materials.
